Summer 2026

Hello Families,

We are so excited for the 2026-2027 school year to begin! The office staff has been busy getting the building ready for staff and students to return as well as securing all our staffing needs and doing "all the things" that need to be done to start another exciting school year. Can you believe we are entering our 20th year anniversary? We are very excited for this year of celebration & reflection as we look back over the past 20 years.

As changes do often happen over the summer, we have had staff retire, relocate, and move on to other new adventures.

The following staff have changed roles this year:

Ms. Belisario will be our Media Specialist, replacing Ms. Tepel who retired this past year. Ms. Lehnertz wants to share her love of English with middle school students and will be teaching 6th & 7th grades.

The following staff are new to the CPCS family this school year:

1st grade: Ms. Lauren Minckley will be filling Ms. Lehnertz’ position.

2nd grade: Ms. Rachel Runyan will be filling the open position

Middle School ELA: Jocelyn Finnecy will be replacing Ms. Harvey who moved closer to family.

Physical Education: Ms. Ewin will be replacing Ms. Campbell who got married in May and is relocating.

Special Education Paraeducator(s): Shamera Daye will be replacing Ms. Hooks. Ms. Hooks will be doing her student teaching this fall and Ms. Johnson has decided she wants more time back with her family. We are still looking for someone to fill her position.

Band & Strings: Holly Gutierrez is replacing Mr. Goldsborough. This position was reduced to a half-time position and Mr. Goldsborough is now full time at Green Holly Elementary School.

Social Worker: Due to the ending of a grant, these positions were reduced across the county and we do not have a social worker at this time. We are looking at options to hire a half-time social worker as soon as possible.

On Monday, August 3rd, we will begin sending out information about classroom placement so be on the watchout for those emails. We look forward to seeing everyone at Open House on August 10th.

See you soon!

Jennifer Surber, Charter Director

Food & Nutrition

Action Required: School Meal Benefits Do Not Roll Over!

Did your children receive free or reduced-price school meals last school year? Please remember that a new FARMs application must be submitted every school year to maintain eligibility. Benefits do not automatically carry over from year to year. To prevent any gap in your child's meal services when school starts, please take a moment to fill out the annual online form. Click the application link below to get started.

Food Menus
My School Bucks

Breakfast and lunch menus can be found by clicking the link above.

Through My School Bucks, families may pay for school meals, view balances and purchases, schedule automatic payments, receive notifications when your student's meal balance is low, and make payments on the go with the mobile app.

We use My School Bucks for field trips and other activities so be sure to sign up!

Help Your Student Learn Their Lunch Number

The faster our lunch lines move, the more time students have to enjoy their lunch and visit with friends! Please print out or save the graphic below, fill in your student's lunch number, and practice putting it into the keypad before the first day of school. Their lunch number is their 6-digit student ID number. You can find this number in the Home Access Center or ask your child's classroom teacher.

Opportunities to Volunteer or Donate

Families,

As you are doing your Back To School shopping, if you would be willing to pick up individually packed snacks (sweet, salty, gluten free, etc...) for our Staff Lounge, that would be greatly appreciated. We do our best to keep the lounge stocked for staff to be able to pick up a snack on the run and it has been such a big hit! Feel free to drop off the snacks in the main office during Open House. Thank you for your generosity :)
