🎡 ST. MARY’S COUNTY FAIR IS THIS WEEKEND!

The St. Mary’s County Fair is coming up this weekend! 🎡🎉 Please remember that there is no school for students on Friday, September 25.

While you’re enjoying the fair, be sure to stop by the SMCPS Art Exhibit and check out the incredible artwork created by some of our very own Carver Artists!

🎨🦅We are so proud of the creativity and talent of our students and grateful to Ms. MacKenzie and Ms. Katsouros for encouraging our young artists and helping them share their talents with our community.Be sure to look for the Carver artwork and celebrate our amazing Eagles! 🦅🎨💙

🦅 ATTENDANCE: EVERY DAY COUNTS!

There is something special about seeing our Eagles arrive at school each morning ready to learn! Thank you, Carver families, for helping your children make school attendance a daily priority. Getting to school on time and being present each day gives students the opportunity to be part of the learning, friendships, activities, and experiences happening at Carver.

🎉 Congratulations to our 1st, 4th and 5th grade Eagles for meeting or exceeding Maryland’s 94% attendance goal last week! We are especially excited to celebrate 5th Grade, who had the highest attendance rate for the third week in a row! 🦅💙 Way to lead the way, 5th Grade!

And our PANTS (Perfect Attendance No Tardies) celebrations are still going strong! Ms. Morgan, along with a special guest appearance by Ms. Barry, enjoyed visiting classrooms and celebrating students who have made the commitment to be at school every day and on time. We love seeing so many Eagles earning this special recognition!

Let’s keep it going, Carver Family! Every day at school is another opportunity to learn, grow, connect and SOAR.🦅💙

🤝 ANNUAL STAKEHOLDER MEETING

We would love to have you join us for our Annual Stakeholder Meeting on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. This meeting is an opportunity for families and community partners to learn more about what is happening at Carver, hear about our school priorities, and share your ideas and feedback.

Please see the flyer below for meeting details and RSVP information. The RSVP deadline was Friday, September 18, but a few spots are still available.

Your partnership and voice are an important part of our Carver Family. We hope to see you there!

🦅 ATTENDANCE SPIRIT WEEK IS NEXT WEEK!

Get ready to show your school spirit, Eagles! 🎉

Next week, September 28–October 2, is Attendance Spirit Week at Carver! Each day features a fun, low- to no-cost dress-up theme designed to celebrate the importance of coming to school every day, on time and ready to learn.

Take a look at the flyer below to see what’s planned for each day, and add the themes to your family calendar. We can't wait to see our Eagles having fun, showing their Carver spirit and, most importantly, showing up for school! 🦅💙

Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership, encouragement and support. Together, we are helping our Eagles learn, grow, and SOAR!

Keep SOARing, Carver Family! 🦅💙

đź’Š Medication Safety Reminder from Nurse Crystal & Ms. Morgan

We want to share an important reminder regarding medications brought to school. For the safety of all students, medications may not be sent to school with students or transported in a student’s backpack.  All medications must be brought directly to the school by a parent/guardian and must be accompanied by the appropriate medication order from the student’s physician. This includes prescription, over the counter and other medications that your child may need during the school day.

We know that mornings can be busy and we appreciate your help in following this important safety procedure. Keeping medications secured and properly documented helps us ensure that they are administered safely and only to the students for whom they are prescribed.

Please do not place medication in your child’s backpack or ask your child to bring it to school.  Thank you for partnering with us to keep all of our Eagles safe and healthy!  Nurse Crystal & Ms. Morgan 🦅

The link to the forms can be found HERE. This link also provides information for physical forms, lead forms, immunizations required, and any specific forms needed for chronic conditions. If you have any concerns please feel free to contact Nurse Crystal at cmmurphy@smcps.org, thank you!
