🦅  Principal's Message  đꦅ

Thank You, Carver Families, for Joining Us for Our Annual Stakeholders Meeting!

A big thank you to the Carver families and community members who joined us for our Annual Stakeholders Meeting last Tuesday evening! We truly appreciate you spending your evening with us, especially on such a rainy night.

Your voice matters! As our educational partners, you shared thoughtful feedback and ideas about how we are using our grant funding to support student achievement and provide meaningful opportunities for our Eagles. We value your partnership and appreciate the honest conversation that helps us continue to grow and improve.

And, of course, Book Bingo was a hit! Our students went home with a book they won during the evening, giving them another opportunity to build their very own home libraries. We hope those new books have already found a special place in your homes!

Thank you for being an important part of the Carver Family and for helping us make decisions that support our students. Together, we are helping our Eagles learn, grow, and SOAR!

ATTENDANCE: EVERY DAY COUNTS!

Our Eagles are showing us that showing up matters! Thank you, Carver families, for continuing to make school attendance a priority.

Last week, four of our grade levels met or exceeded Maryland’s 94% attendance goal!

Congratulations to our 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Eagles!

2nd Grade – 96.25%

5th Grade – 95.94%

3rd Grade – 95.56%

4th Grade – 94.07%

A very special shout-out to 2nd Grade for having the highest attendance rate this week! Way to SOAR, Eagles!

We also want to encourage all of our families to keep working toward that 94% goal. Every day at school matters. Being present and arriving on time gives students the opportunity to participate in learning, build friendships, engage in classroom activities, and experience all the wonderful things happening in the Nest.

And our PANTS (Perfect Attendance No Tardies) celebrations continue! Ms. Morgan, along with our Carver team, has loved visiting classrooms and celebrating students who are making the commitment to be at school every day and on time.

Keep showing up, Eagles! Every day is another opportunity to learn, grow, connect, and SOAR.

ATTENDANCE SPIRIT WEEK IS THIS WEEK!

Get ready to show your Carver spirit, Eagles!

September 28–October 2 is Attendance Spirit Week at Carver!

Each day features a fun, low- to no-cost dress-up theme designed to celebrate something important: coming to school every day, arriving on time, and being ready to learn.

Check out the flyer below for each day's theme and help your Eagle get ready to participate!  We can't wait to see our Eagles having fun, showing their Carver spirit, and—most importantly—showing up for school!

Thank you, Carver families, for your continued partnership, encouragement, and support. Together, we are helping our Eagles learn, grow, and SOAR!

đź’Š Medication Safety Reminder from Nurse Crystal & Ms. Morgan

We want to share an important reminder regarding medications brought to school. For the safety of all students, medications may not be sent to school with students or transported in a student’s backpack.  All medications must be brought directly to the school by a parent/guardian and must be accompanied by the appropriate medication order from the student’s physician. This includes prescription, over the counter and other medications that your child may need during the school day.

We know that mornings can be busy and we appreciate your help in following this important safety procedure. Keeping medications secured and properly documented helps us ensure that they are administered safely and only to the students for whom they are prescribed.

Please do not place medication in your child’s backpack or ask your child to bring it to school.  Thank you for partnering with us to keep all of our Eagles safe and healthy!  Nurse Crystal & Ms. Morgan 🦅

The link to the forms can be found HERE. This link also provides information for physical forms, lead forms, immunizations required, and any specific forms needed for chronic conditions. If you have any concerns please feel free to contact Nurse Crystal at cmmurphy@smcps.org, thank you!
