Important Vaccine Information

Parents, please make sure your child is up to date on all recommended vaccines, including the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine. Staying up to date on vaccinations helps protect your student and our school community. Contact your child’s school nurse with questions about required school vaccinations.
A measles outbreak has been reported in St. Mary’s County. While the risk to individuals who have received measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine remains low, we ask families to stay alert for symptoms of measles, including fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, and a rash. If your child develops symptoms, keep them home from school and contact your healthcare provider before arriving so appropriate precautions can be taken. We are working closely with local public health officials and will continue to share updates as needed. If you would like additional information regarding Measles, please visit the SMCHD Measles Page. paragraph block.

Maryland Youth Risk Behavior Survey/Youth Tobacco Survey

The Maryland Youth Risk Behavior Survey/Youth Tobacco Survey (YRBS/YTS) is conducted by the
Maryland Department of Health (MDH) in collaboration with the Maryland State Department of Education(MSDE) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The survey collects important data on youth health risk behaviors that help state and local programs address these issues more effectively. Student participation is important because the results help inform initiatives that support healthier behaviors among Maryland’s youth.  We will be administering the survey at SRMS on October 14th.

SchooLinks Resources Available

SchooLinks is an online college and career readiness platform available to students in grades 6-12 through the Clever Portal on their school-issued devices. The platform helps students explore their interests, discover career and college options, and develop a personalized plan for their future.

Parents and guardians can view their student's SchooLinks account to stay informed and support their child's postsecondary planning. If you do not have access, please ask your student to send you a guardian invitation through SchooLinks.

Helpful Resources:

Guardian Access Guide: Instructions for accessing your student's account.

Guardian Onboarding Guide: An overview of SchooLinks features and navigation.

We encourage all families to engage with SchooLinks and partner with us in helping students plan for success beyond high school.
