A messsage from Mr. Kent

Working Together for Student Success

At Town Creek, all staff are committed to ensuring every student knows what they are learning, why it matters in the real world, and how they can be successful. When students understand how their learning connects to life beyond the classroom, they become more engaged, confident, and invested in their growth.Families can support this work by encouraging completion of curriculum-based homework and continuing learning conversations at home. Consider asking:

What are you learning?

Why is this important in the real world?

Where might you use this skill or knowledge outside of school?

How do you know you're successful?

Can you teach me something you learned today?

When school and home work together using the same language and expectations, students experience the consistency and support they need to thrive. Thank you for being such an important partner in your child's success!

It's a great day to be a Terrapin

Attendance Matters

Every Day Counts

We know that occasional absences are sometimes unavoidable, and we appreciate families' efforts to keep us informed when students must be out. Regular attendance helps students stay connected to learning, build strong relationships, and maintain important classroom routines.

Did you know that missing just 10 days of school during the year, whether absences are lawful or unlawful, can place a student in the State of Maryland's chronically absent category?

Thank you for partnering with us to make attendance a priority. Together, we can help every child make the most of each school day and every learning opportunity.

All this work is making me hungry.                     What's for lunch?

Students learn best when they start the day with a nutritious meal! A healthy breakfast and lunch help support focus, energy, and academic success throughout the school day. Be sure to check the weekly breakfast and lunch menus to see the delicious options available. As a helpful tip, students can practice entering their 6-digit lunch number on a phone keypad or calculator at home to build confidence and help them move smoothly through the cafeteria line. Be sure to look closely at the images. The top is K-5 and the bottom is Pre-K.

TCES is more than work, there are fun activities and clubs take part in as well

We encourage all students to get involved in extracurricular activities and take advantage of the opportunities to build friendships, develop new skills, and stay active. Clubs and groups will be starting soon, and the TCES Running Club, sponsored by Ms. Settle, is currently looking for runners and walkers to join this fun, healthy, and social program. If your child is interested, please complete the form below. Don't worry if running club isn't the right fit, as additional clubs and activities begin throughout the year, we will share information about them here so everyone can find something that interests them!
